Teacher Considerations When Going Web 2.0
1. How do students sign up and what information do they need to share?
2. Ease of use. Can a student (or an adult) figure this out easily?
3. Can I mass enroll students? Is it easy enough for them to enroll themselves?
4. Do students need emails? Students are not suppose to have emails until age 13.
5. Is student information shared to a larger public? Is there a login for security?
6. Collaborative options for creating or sharing presentations?
7. Is this software blocked by my district's content filter?
8. Flexibility of use of media: photos, video, audio (does it record?).
9. Can it be created online without needing to download software, can I download software?
10. Is there an education version? Will students see inappropriate ads on the site?
11. Limits: Is there a time or size limit? Are essential features disabled in the free version?
12. Does it monitor and filter potentially inappropriate content?
13. How stable does this company seem, what will I do if they start charging?
